Kingston Adds Neoteric As Its ND For USB Drives

Kingston Adds Neoteric As Its ND For USB Drives

CRN Network, August 1, 2011, 1045 hrs

After getting aggressive with its SSDNow products Kingston now plans to get aggressive with its USB drives and has added Neoteric as ND to distribute its USB flash drives. This would provide Kingston USB drives a deeper penetration in the market.

The Kingston-Neoteric association began with memory modules which later added SSDNow and Secure pen drives products in January 2011.

“The pen drive market is an exponentially growing and competitive market and to ensure better market share we are banking on Neoteric to leverage their reach.
Neoteric continued the commendable job they did on the DRAM business line to the SSDNow and Secure pen drive business and we are confident that the same success would follow for the USB pen drives too,” said Nidhi Sethi, Sales Director, Flash Memory, Kingston Technology, India.

“This tie-up with Kingston Technology on the USB pen drives would help us achieve better penetration for Kingston range of products. With the current competitive market scenario, the introduction of USB pen drives will serve as an entry point to extend our reach to newer partners and cities,” said Mehul Kagalwala, DGM, PC Components Group, Neoteric Infomatique.

Array Launches Remote Desktop Access Application for Android Tablets and Smartphones

Array Launches Remote Desktop Access Application for Android Tablets and Smartphones

 CRN Network, August 4, 2011, 1145 hrs

Array Networks has launched DesktopDirect for Android-powered mobile devices. The application enables remote desktop access for enterprise users from Android-powered tablets or Smartphones.

DesktopDirect is a corporate owned, appliance-based remote desktop access solution that enables secure access to office PCs or virtual desktops from any device, allowing employees to work, even when they can't get to the office. The appliance resides on the corporate network, with desktops provisioned either by IT or by end users via self registration.

The application has eliminated Windows compatibility. Users can operate their office desktops with tablet interfaces by using a finger-activated mouse along with the Android virtual keyboard.

Shibu Paul, National Sales Manager, Array Networks, said, “With the explosive growth of tablets, providing access from tablets is becoming a major enterprise pain point. This solution allows customers to access enterprise applications, but does not allow users to download data, and prevents data leakage. These solutions are mostly driven by tier-2 channel and hence it’s a huge opportunity for them.”

The DesktopDirect enterprise edition is priced in between Rs 700 and Rs 1,000, and is available with Array distributors
